German born, Sydney based KURLY has quickly become a highly regarded selector of Techno and Psytech, commanding dancefloors with her captivating energetic & driving sets

Music has always been an integral part of her life, a constant presence that remained unwavering even after her relocation to Australia five years ago. Two years ago, she immersed herself in Sydney’s underground Techno scene, marking the beginning of her long-held dream to pursue a DJ career. From the early days of learning the craft, she devoted herself entirely to refining her skills while simultaneously supporting the struggling nightlife industry during and after the pandemic. In addition to performing, she actively assists her peers with event promotion, curates diverse lineups, provides opportunities for emerging talent, and advocates for the inclusion of more female DJs in event programming.

Her journey has seen her play in settings ranging from secret warehouse raves to iconic techno venues, sharing the decks with some of the scene’s most esteemed artists and leaving behind a trail of unforgettable sets. Her musical style is as versatile as it is distinctive, effortlessly navigating between dark, brooding techno and uplifting, melodic anthems. This dynamic interplay of tension—darkness and light—forms the core of her performances, a powerful force that keeps audiences captivated and moving.

In addition to collaborating with local talent, she has supported prominent interstate and international artists, such as techno heavyweight Lisa May (VIC), as well as headliners like Kozy (CA, Alpaka Muzik) and Psytech pioneer Luis M (PT). Her unwavering passion for music and her dedication to the underground scene position her future as bright as the lasers that illuminate the dancefloors she commands.

Her goal for 2025 is to dive into music production and begin crafting her own anthems

Through relentless hard work and commitment, she has secured a residency at Puzzles Records, a dark minimal and psytech event and record label in Sydney who are pioneers in the underground scene. Looking ahead, Kurly is eager to continue growing her career alongside like-minded individuals and supportive friends, as part of an ever-evolving and vibrant community. Her goals are set to releasing her first EP this year as well as interstate and international shows.
